This one is a 'what if I do it this way..' tatting and it turned out quite alright.
|
Thread is Olympus Gold label in teal and brown.
Finished size is just over 10cm |
I don't usually find the need to block my tatting, suffice with pressing under several thick books. When I lifted the books to place this piece, this Amusement Doily (below) surfaced. I can't remember when I placed this doily under the books. There are several books stacked together and I can press more than one piece at a time. I guess this amusement doily was the one that I forgot

The thread is Lizbeth size 40 but I cannot remember the name. |
Wow, I love the top one. What a lovely surprise to find the other one as a bonus!
ReplyDeleteAmusing how the Amusement Doily turned up ;-D

How nice that you found the little amusement doily and your teal and brown design is lovely.
ReplyDeleteBoth doilies are beautiful!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice surprise! I love the design on your top doily--fun color choice too!
ReplyDeleteI love the colours in the top doily! - Nice surprise to find the other one when you weren't expecting it!
ReplyDeleteWow you always give us such a treat with your tatting and they are beautifully done, great post!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I'm afraid I would forget about doilies stacked under books, probably because I have too many stacks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful....
ReplyDeleteDas oberste Deckchen ist mein Favorit. Aber auch das untere Deckchen ist sehr hübsch. Eine schöne Freizeitarbeit
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful dolies, what a lovely surprise to find one you had forgotton.

Thank you for your lovely comments. Yes, it was a surprise to find the Amusement Doily again.
ReplyDeleteLove that top motif. Have you a pattern somewhere for it or is it forthcoming?
ReplyDeleteI am really liking the watermarks, how do I do this? I only have the Android App used for Instagram...
ReplyDeleteErin, if you are referring to the one in the pic for the Amusement Doily, I created that with a drawing program in my computer and copy&paste it when I edited the photo.
DeleteGeneally, I would just use the apps that I downloaded on my phone when posting photos on Instagram.
Does that Amusement Doily need to be blocked? I am only asking because I have tried the pattern 3 times and whether I use a picot gauge to ensure all my picots are uniform or go really slow and make sure my tension is consistent the outside round always pops up to make the doily look like a dish. No matter what I do. Maybe doilies are not for me...
ReplyDeleteErin, I didi not have to block for this Amusement Doily. There may be slight crumpling but it all straightened out with a little bit of pressing with a steam iron.
