Round 9 of Spring
I feel I had to add the additional words in the title as I am still on the Spring Doily, while Renulek has come out with a summer doily. I have no plans to the summer version, but I admire the tenacity of some tatters who are already embarking on it after finishing Spring - some are even working the two Spring and Summer together, finishing one and starting on the other.
Anyway, this is my Round 9 -
This is a close up so you can see the thread colours better.
I brought back the red in Round 9 but I added a new thread for the chains. I am using Olympus Gold label code M16 for the chains, which is a variegation of tan to white. Unfortunately, it does not show up very well even in the close-up photo.
My next post on this will be after I have completed the next two rounds.

That is just exquisite!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty doily with your spring colours, I did not do the spring one but I am doing the summer one, I look forward to seeing your doily when you have done a bit more.

Jon, this looks sensational! I really like the last row colours you picked.

What an amazing doily! It is very interesting to see how the different colors used by different tatters change our perception of the doily. I am looking forward to see your next step.
ReplyDeleteLooking great! I really want to get on with row 9 too, but I have some other projects on the go. Yes, hard to keep up with Renulek doilies!
ReplyDeleteThat looks nice! The red really pops. I wonder what it would look like against a dark background. I bet the yellow in Round 8 would then pop out at you. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your color choices! I think I may look to some of my favorite fabrics for color inspiration. I just don't seem to come up with color combos on my own.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking like a beautiful spring scene!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely in love with your new round and how it ties in with the red in the earlier round. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLovely work! I admire your colorful doilies and your patience - I did only 3 rounds of Spring and gave up.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
