Let's vote
Here are the three colours that I am considering for the next part of the NB doily, which is made up of the mesh of rings:
The yellow is 613 - Golden yellow medium and the multi-coloured thread is Lizbeth 132 - tropical punch. If you have these colours in your stash, you can make the comparison yourself and let me know what you think would be the most suitable colour.
Lizbeth 623 - Raspberry pink light |
Lizbeth 683 - Leaf green light |
Lizbeth 684 - Leaf green medium |
I like the raspberry pink light the best of the three...just seems right to me, I like that it seems to match the lighter pink on the variegated thread while the yellow matched the darker yellow more closely. It seems to provide more balance in the tones.
ReplyDeleteLeaf Green Light - at first I thought pink, but the light green is a warm colour, and will go well with the yellow.
ReplyDeleteI think the medium green has blue-ish tones somehow, and won't blend so well.
I think I like the Raspberry Pink Light the best, but all are very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI don't have all the threads to compare but on my computer, I like the 623.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see what the tattling between the. Otis will look like.
My vote the first one, raspberry whatever.
ReplyDeleteMargaret
Oh its got to be raspberry pink light for me.Love what you have done so far.
ReplyDeleteIt is very hard to choose. If you like to have brighter doily, choose first one, if a little calm, the second.
ReplyDeleteI think, pink will look the best.
lizbeth 683... its very pretty
ReplyDeleteHmmm. I think Maureen has a good point, but I prefer the medium green #684, as I think the light one might be too wishy-washy against the yellow. I do like the idea of the green though as opposed to more pink.
ReplyDeleteFox : )
I don't have the variegated thread on hand to look at, but on my screen it looks like the raspberry is a little more purplish than the pink in the other thread; to me this makes it not such a good match. If I'm wrong and the pinks do match, then go with that one; sometimes too many colors can look "busy". But if I'm right and the pinks don't quite match, then that can look even worse, and it's better to go with a contrasting color. In this case I would choose the light green.
ReplyDeleteThe Raspberry looks best to me -- but I like bright doilies!
ReplyDeleteI like the medium green....:)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Fox and would go with the medium green for contrast. We seem to be in the 'minority'!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, though, that I can't imagine how the rings of mesh can be worked in! Kind of gives me chills! How do you 'handle' the doily and the shuttle and make all the right connections! It sounds so fiddly! With crochet, one has a lot of latitude in using the hook, such as filling in the 'ground' in Irish crochet. I did that once for a small doily, but tatting is another thing! You're a brave soul!
After looking at the older post. I think I would choose the Leaf Green. I like contrast, so shoot me.
ReplyDeleteRaspberry would be my vote. It is a nice contract to the yellow (at least it looks yellow on my computer) to the larger motifs next to it.
ReplyDeleteRaspberry would be my vote. It would be a nice contrast to the larger motifs next to it.
ReplyDeleteI had originally thought the light green would be the best way to go, and left that comment on your previous post.
ReplyDeleteHowever, seeing them together makes me think that, as Miranda stated, if the raspberry matches perfectly then that would be the way to go.
I'm with Fox on this, the contrast would be lovely
ReplyDeleteSo difficult to choose - I like either of the green. The pink is pretty, too!
ReplyDeleteI vote Raspberry pink too !
ReplyDeleteI really like the light medium green
ReplyDelete683 - Leaf Green Light is my choice then the pale pink
ReplyDeleteRaspberry would be my vote.
