I wrote about my niece in this earlier post. Now the work has begun on getting everything ready for the big day, except that for me, I will have to double the effort.
You see, since that post, another one of my nieces will be getting married too. And the two weddings are just a month apart from each other. It will be a busy time for me for the next few months. So much so that I have decided to put aside all my current tatting projects and focus on these two events.
There are a few things that I am thinking of making to decorate the gifts and wedding favors. I started working on a flower pattern by Mary Konior. These are the Bell Flowers from Tatting with Visual Patterns. Can't quite decide which colour beads to use.
Then, I tatted a small basket, which I plan to use as receptacles for the bunga rampai. I have not decided how many of these baskets that I need to make.
Bunga Rampai is a scented mix of flower petals and finely sliced pandanus leaves that is usually part of the decoration for the wedding gifts exchanged by the two families.
Now, got to wait and see if the mothers of the brides are agreeable with these, ha ha ha ha.....
