Update on the Anne Orr 'Square'

Here it is .....

All in, there are eight repeats of the triangle motif joined together in one pass. I have decided to stop at this point for two reasons .....

# 1, I am getting bored :-( with this thread and want to move on to different type, and

# 2, the more practical reason, the amount of thread that I have left will not be enough to make the square any bigger than this unless I get some more .. and ... I am not in the mood to drive all the way across the city to go to the only shop that is selling this thread.

But, there is good news .... I have sent this out to some one as a surprise. Just look out for the mailman ... :-) It might be YOU!... :-D

  1. Ah ... lovely. It's a good size doily to stop at anyway :) That's a nice twist to a surprise! :)

  2. Barbara, I forgot to measure the size before I mailed it out. I think it must be about 6 inches square. Not very big .... but working with size 80 .... it feels like ages to finish.

  3. Wow, what a pretty pattern. That's a very generous gift. Size 80 is so slow to work with as far as progression of size, but it sure is pretty and delicate looking when all is said and done.

  4. What a beautiful piece of work! It's nice to see a square piece instead of round or oval. I love the colors. Congratulations on finishing such a challenging project!

  6. Which shop is this? The one in Ampang Park? I really need to visit there soon. The last time I went I was not into tatting and that was years ago.

  11. After 10 years, thanks to a reference by Robin Perfetti in Craftree, I have read this post, as well as the previous post (Feb 2008) about the Magic Square. It's lovely! :-) Mesmerizing pattern in a beautiful thread, so dainty... :-)
