Still Freezing .... thankfully not yet frozen ... he he he

This is what the temperature was on Day 4 of our stay in Leicester.

Old Trafford
This is the real reason for us braving the cold.

Today, on Day 6 we will drive down to London and stopping along the way to meet that 'old git'.  Hoping for a safe trip.
Sadly, I did not make it to Stratford after all.  We kept up with the news on the weather and road conditions up to the last minute before leaving Leicester.  Snow fell quite heavily the night before and by morning most of the roads are covered with snow, and icy in some parts.  With no experience driving in such conditions we decided to stick to the safer motorways and proceed straight to London.  I called Jane to tell of our decision and needless to say, both of us are very disappointed.  Jane blamed me for bringing all the snow and ice to England, and made me promise that my next visit, if there is going to be a next one, will be during the warmer months, he he he .....  Yes, Jane.  I hear you.

  3. You picked the wrong time of the year to visit the UK, I hope you are feeling too cold, as we are having very cold weather at the moment.

  6. Thank you all. Yes I am very proud of her achievement.

On another note, I did not meet with Jane, unfortunately. Te snow had fallen rather heavily during the night. We were keeping up with the weather report until the very last minute. We decided not to take the risk on the icy roads and took it safe by sticking on the motorway to London rather than the county roads to Stratford. But I did have a very pleasant phone call with Jane on the phone. Needless to say, we were both disappointed that we were not able to meet.

  7. Hehe, I could not help but chuckle a little bit as I read your post. I live in the Okanagan in Canada, and although -7 is cold, it does not seem too bad compared to the -20 weather (colder with windchill) we had a couple weeks ago! It just goes to show that we get very used to where we live (I am sure if I was in Malaysia I would find it very hot, although our summers here usually hit almost 40 F). I hope your trip was fabulous and congrats to your graduate. I look forward to seeing more of your tatting!
