I have received requests for the pattern for this Diamond-square motif that I showed in my earlier post. I tried to make the diagram as clear as possible, I hope it can be read.
This pattern has not been tested so if there are any problems with it, please e-mail me.
Tatting Books
Pos Malaysia has revised the postage rates for international mail and this has affected the shipping cost for my books. I have temporarily removed the page concerned until I can come up with a new shipping structure.
My books are also available from Handy Hands, Tatting Corner or Roseground.

Not Tatting but The Needle Case
Remember the tatted purse that I made for Marian in the Wish List Exchange that I wrote about earlier? Well, I am happy to say that I have received the needlecase that Marian has made for me in exchange, and what a beautiful and useful gift it is.
Marian is a quilter, and I am not! So I didn't know what to expect from her. I was lost for words when I open the package when it arrived. What a wonderful piece of work and so beautifully done. And the small touches that Marian has added to it -

like the tiny embroidered butteflies, and the plastic scissors decorating the front.
The pocket at the back for the scissors is useful too.

And she has even put in my name as well.
And what do you think of the tiny pincushion on the inside?
How I agree with Barbara when she termed it an EVERYTHING case rather than a needle case.
And to add to everything else, Marian had included a tiny bag that she made from beads. She said it is the first time that she tried working with beads. Looking at it, I am looking forward to seeing more beadwork coming from you, Marian!
Thank you again, Marian. You have been a wonderful exchange partner.

More Tatted Ornaments
The local needlecraft store that I frequent has just started supplying the Olympus Gold threads and I am having a great time using them. I really love the wide range of colours that Olympus has. Here are some hanging ornaments that I have done. The small one in the middle is not yet finished. I still haven't come up with any idea for the outer round.

The ones using the Olympus thread are the colourful ones, except for the single coloured snowflake in the top centre, which was made using a Flora 20.
My daughter found the snowflake that I made earlier and decided to dress-up her worn-out pencil case. Then she asked me to make a matching one to hang on the zipper of the case. And here is the finished look. I can't close the scanner cover flat which resulted in the grey area surrounding it. The pattern for the snowflake (not the hanging ornament) is on the right under Patterns - Rings only Snowflake.
